9.2 for me. Body Pump tonight.

Pretty good run. Did see this drunk guy around 5:30..I seriously thought he was on a bicycle he was all over the road. He was walking but was clearly intoxicated. LOL. Man, going hard on a Monday night!

I am coming in HOT today. Mammel pulled the last straw with me last night. My co-worker that is out is our Coordinator (basically an admin but she does so much more). I am covering a lot of the day to day stuff that she does – but mammal blew up my email last night with admin work requests. Uhm. No. Is that because I am the only other female in the office? This is a “team” and when one of the teammates is out the work load is spread throughout the team. What do you think I am twiddling my thumbs over here?!?!?! UGGGHHHHHHHH. Rant over.

Oh. HCBF got his blood work results back. Lets just say…he had to go pick up some cholesterol medicine last night. He was at 285!!!!! He is skinny fat. HCBF is very petite. But he eats like crap obviously. I yelled at him last night because after he got that call, he still wanted to have fried ravioli last night when I had made salmon. Like a child this guy! The doctor also asked him if he has been feeling alright because he picked up something in his blood work. That his body was fighting something. So he must have really been sick! I would say I hope I don't get it..but we did..uh.."activities" before he was sick on Saturday night. So, the damage is done. LOL.

Obviously people shouldn’t be messing with me this week. I am peaking. I am tired. I am always hungry. All I want to do is take a nap and eat cake. Don’t push me. LOL.

Run2trail – Nice miles the past couple days! You were smart to rest last weekend with the tightness. I find that my calves are constantly tight. Doesn’t matter what I do anymore. Sigh.

Carol – Are you getting snow too?! OOO a half this weekend!! I guess this is practice for Pittsburgh?

Run4kupcakes – How lucky you are so close to Holabird Sports. I order most of my shoes from them. Awesomely fast shipping.

Tessa – Did NOT know that about the older you get the more likely your teeth are to break. When I went into the dentist last week, he told me I would probably need a retainer at somepoint because my teeth will shift. Interesting. I had braces when I was a kid and grew out of my retainer..I thought I was done with that stuff! Guess not. Glad you managed to get some lunchtime miles in! Is work really awful right now because of the office move?

Speaking of shoes I have to suck it up and buy a pair. Was hoping to avoid it. But my feet are really not liking the Rides or my trusty ol' Saucony Zealots (used to be my goto shoe). I think I am going to try the Brooks Ravenna. I read that if you do well with the Wave Riders...that the Ravenna's should work well. We will see..they are considered a stability shoe. I am going to give it a shot!

Okay. My mind is obviously going a mile a minute. Have a good Tuesday!

Lizzie, Brooks Adrenalines are also stability shoes. The 2018’s have a wide toe box.

Anonymous Guest, I am not a ghost believer but find the activities very interesting and fun.

        Arimathea, I remember Dick Clark.

Monday my new little drum chair came and I am very pleased with it.   It’s off white with a pattern of black tree branches with silvery-grey leaves (sort of like pussy willows). Made by Amish in Ohio, it’s also on a swivel. I will donate a motorized lift chair that DH needed when he was ill. It’s in good shape so I plan to donate it to some organization. I need to make some calls today to see if someone will come and pick it up. It has motors and a transformer inside so it's really heavy.

Yesterday just as I was about to make exercise plans, a leak sprung upstairs, so the rest of the day was spent moving stuff and mopping up. None of my stuff was damaged. They will replace the pipe today. Chair is moved to dinette, bathroom stuff to dinette and bedroom, bathroom stuff in kitchen, etc. I have lived in apartments for 75 years, so this is not a problem.

I plan to run here at home today and start some mini-cross training activities.

        Safe and happy runs, All!

5.2 this morning! Legs were heavy but I kept moving.

Margaret---OUCH!!!  I'm on my way to the dentist now.  My crown had cracked or leaking and they had to replace it.  Insurance will not cover this. Sad

          Later!

Crazysue, sorry about the crown!  No dental insurance here either.

            Former Bad Ass

Morning!  9 miles for me tonight.

Not sure what happened with Bugsy last night but the guy got violent.  He attacked my poor little knee under the blankets and then proceeded to fight with Sammy all in one move.  Man, he was excited, ha.

Liz, let Mammel know that you won't sit down and roll over. Nice run.  Good luck to BF with his meds.  Men!

Judy, ugh!  Hoping everything is fixed and dried today.

Margaret, ouch at the crown.  Hoping you are in no pain now.

Susan, nice run.  Sorry about the dentist expense.

              Damaris

              Arimathea

              Tessa

Liz, busy both because we're dealing with April 1 renewals, we have had several people quit or retire, and yes we are moving on Friday. Triple whammy. For me there are also 3 classes added to the load.

Susan, sorry about the tooth! Dental insurance is good for preventive but not great for fixing teeth.

No run this morning, I had to get to West LA. At least I didn't fall off the curb this week.

Hi!  Survived the root canal... let's hope I survive the bill.    Even with insurance, this tooth is costly me dearly!  Have a temporary filling in it now and then I go back in a month for a crown (after they're sure it's healed and okay).  And really, isn't it only appropriate that I get a crown?

Tessa, no kidding re aging teeth.  I brush and floss daily yet there's years of wear and tear in my teeth.  And I used to like chewing ice -- shuddering about the damage that's caused.    Agree that dental insurance seems more oriented towards preventive care and not fixing problems.

Lizzie, grrr on Mammal treating you like his personal admin.  It's quite possible that he gives you all the extra work because you get things done, versus dividing it among the other teammates who will probably screw it up.  It's called being a victim of your own competence.    Sounds like HCBF needs a little work on his diet... but so much easier said than done!  But you eat well, so hopefully he'll listen to you and the doctor.

Judy, frustrating about the leak!  At least since it's an apartment, someone else has to fix it.

CrazySue, ugh on the cracked crown.  When I get mine, I'm going to be worrying about breaking it.

Damaris, laughing at Bugsy's violent spell.  Kitkats can be psycho sometimes.

MTA: Planning on doing a short run at lunchtime, treating this week as a taper for 50k on Saturday.  Forecast calls for an "pineapple express atmospheric river" aka lots of rain.  Wheeee.

I'm just going crazy here by myself.....yesterday I cleaned the office and half the bathrooms and super-cleaned the kitchen, including sealing the granite countertops. I also finally caught up on the last two episodes of This Is Us. Today is major dusting, including ceiling fans, baseboards and pretty much everything in between. Also groceries. And the other half of the bathrooms. Look out when I'm home alone.....

I did run 8 miles this morning. Hot (79) and humid. I am not ready for gross, sweaty runs yet. But here they are, so I will try to embrace them.

Diana and Cathy, have fun today!

Liz, stupid mammal. I agree with Margaret though, he may try to put more on you because you get it done. It's easier to overload a hard worker than "coach" a slacker and get them to produce. I am not sure I'd go with the Ravenna if you've been wearing neutral shoes. What about the Glycerins or Launch? I did like the New Balance 1080s, but the latest version gave me a bit of a blister. Then again, the Ravenna may be fine as I think they are a mild stability shoe, as opposed to the Adrenalines which are more stability. When's the last time you went into a running store and tried on shoes? I know, it's a pain, and you can usually find cheaper online, but I was running in the wrong kind of shoes for years (based on one kid working in a running store's opinion) and a lot of little aches and pains went away when I went into the store last summer and had someone knowledgeable look at my feet/shoes. Sorry, I'm making your life more difficult, aren't I?

Susan, I was impressed with your cooking for the picky eaters! I need to go to the dentist as I've been having some tooth pain, but 1) I don't want to, and 2) even with insurance, it always seems to be so expensive.

                    Calm down, Bugsy!

Tessa, that is a lot of busy going on! Add in Easter last weekend and I'm surprised you've gotten any sleep at all the last week or two.

Margaret, you do deserve a crown. That is some weather forecast.

HI to all, I better get going.

Quick for me.  It's our semi annual surprise cash counts at the casinos so up early and busy.  Tomorrow we drive up to KC for that one, count Thur and drive back same day.  Lots of fun (insert sarcasm).  I'll say hi to everyone.

Judy – Your new chair sounds very pretty!!! I would love to see a picture! Smile Oh no! Sorry to hear about the leak – glad nothing was damaged! Have a good run!

Susan – Nice job keeping it moving this morning Smile Sorry about the dental woes!!

Docket – We will be mileage twins today Smile Whats your normal weekly mileage? And then what is your peak mileage? Bugsy was feisty!

Margaret – Haha yes, you get a real crown too! Smile  Ugh, guess you could be right about Mammel. Still very frustrating. This “teamwork” BS he always preaches is just a crock! Have a good run and yay for tapering! Oh NO on the rain. Going to be muddy Smile

Tessa – Geez you are so busy! Hang in there. I hope you have wine when you get home LOL.

Karen – I am going to say you are really getting into your Spring Cleaning Smile Do you want to come do my house next? Haha. Nice miles this morning. I am not ready for the warm runs either. Sigh. And YES, you did make my shoe life harder haha. My circumstance is the same as you – a kid working in a runners store told me I was a neutral runner. He probably just saw that I have a mid-foot strike and said “oh neutral” haha.  I had that done when I was buying shoes for my first marathon. Actually, the shoes I had chosen (Saucony Ride 8) were the best shoe I have ever owned!  I need to go back and do it again. Sigh. I did end up ordering the Brooks. We will see how those work out. I love that Brooks has the 90 day guarantee with their shoe so I can return them if they don’t work. I am laughing out loud at your dentist comment. I hate it tooooooooo.

Diane – Oh man, hang in there!

Heading to body pump shortly! I am so tired - I hope I can manage to get to bed early. Tomorrow's run is a tough one. Supposed to be humid and thunderstorms possible..hopefully those hold off until the run is done!

OH - I went off on Mammel and he has been kissing my ass all day. Smile

                        Have a good evening all!

                        November 14 - Richmond, VA - 26.2

                        March 21 - Virginia Beach, VA - 26.2

Karen--if you are in the cleaning mood, please come back and visit!

Margaret--good luck with the crown.  I need to be more careful and not eat so much junk and don't mess up another one.  At least the dental office said they are going to write the insurance company, explain the problem and try to get them to cover more of the charges.  Insurance didn't want to pay since the tooth had been crowned within the past five years.... Fingers crossed.

                          ginnyb

I really wish you all would stop talking about warm and humid please!  As I am looking out the window of a mix of snow/rain, it is a miserable day here today, misting and freezing cold and dark and dank!!  I can't take much more or I am going to end up on either Liz's or Karen's doorstep!

karen....I just can't get into spring cleaning until it is Springy

I am at work and just listened to a woman bashing about every doctor we have in town, the hospital, all the nursing homes, doctors, nurses etc.....Oh my, the things we have to do.  I know she just needed someone to listen to her and I listened, but now I'm depressed !  My, my.

Liz...I am always hungry too and tired!  Darn mammal anyway!

I agree that we should get at least 3 sets of teeth, 2 are not enough for sure!  Right now I need to go to the dentist also.  I don't mind going, I just don't like paying for it.

Did not do any sort of exercise this morning.....

                                Happy Tuesday!

Snowing here, we're supposed to get several inches but the start of the storm was delayed for several hours so hopefully it won't dump as much as they were originally forecasting.  UGH.  I was hoping to run outside after work but the sleet/snow is blowing sideways at the moment so I will probably just take a rest day and do 1 mile on the TM.

3 miles after work...and  it was beautiful!

Lizzie - UGH to the MAMMEL!!!  Tell your HCBF to get himself healthy LOL!  My BF is the same - well, he used to be a runner and was in great shape when we met but he does not take care of himself.  He eats lots of fat, drinks lots of beer and does not exercise.  Well, he is active as far as being an outdoorsman but he does not work out.

Judy - the chair sounds awesome!

Sue - nice 5.2.  Ouch on the crown!

Damaris - was Bugsy dreaming?  Sounds like a little fiesty thing!

                                HI Tessa!

Margaret - ugh on the root canal, I know those (and crowns) are pricey!

Hi Karen - come and clean my house, please!!  Ha ha!

Diane - hope you survived the day!

Ginny - miserable day here, too.  I just want to take a nap!

Date night tonight (so no nap), looking forward to it!
