Watermelon MONDAYS (DAILIES) (Read 19 times)

Anonymous Guest

Back after a delicious dinner of grilled pork chops, portabella mushrooms with brie, and broccoli. We are killing it with meals this trip if I do say so myself. Just kind of making up recipes to grill or cook in the van (or in the condo now), and everything has been really good. We've got a bunch of junk food too, but I guess I'm being active enough and eating well enough, because my shorts seem to be getting a little looser.

We are all exhausted now from our early afternoon excursion/adventure. Probably another early evening to bed for me.

Elina, great job on the race over the weekend!

Liz, I hope the storm rolls through quickly and uneventfully. For you and for all your sites.

Cathy, you have been speedy lately. I think you could do a 3:45 or so. Cool on the swimming lesson!

Susan, how fun to do an actual race! PE outside in Mississippi in August/September? Yikes. I hope they figure something out, that sounds miserable for your DD.

Lisa, that picture was not what I was expecting when you said "bike!" I think you're right, stress does play a bigger role in our lives than we realize. Keep an eye on things and don't be afraid to switch out a run with a bike ride (the pedaling kind) or a walk.

Lori, sorry your staycation is over. Hope going back to work today was not awful.

Damaris, hope the run goes well tonight. Excited you are getting some decent weather this week.

Kathryn, sounds like you are enjoying NOLA. I love beignets, so good. But in the car? Yep, that's gonna be a powdered sugar mess! I grew up on the Mississippi and have never been on a paddle/steam boat. I have seen them though.

Sandy, I rarely buy Kindle books either. But my library didn't have it, you said it was good, and with my history I like a good "quit drinking" story. Awww, hope Lily is okay! And having someone come to the house to train you/Lily is a great idea.

Judy, yikes on the deer! Glad they turned off when they did!

Upcoming races: Hennepin Hundred - October 2024

Judy, it's not rutting season yet, is it? For the deer, I mean. *ducts as the lewd comments start coming in*

Sandy, too cold to sit outside? Please PLEASE send some of that our way. Brush fire today near where I used to park my car.

Karen, sounds like you two are really rocking the meals. Hope you get a chance to do more paddleboarding without canine "help".

Lisa, you are working very hard and taking care of everyone. Relax.

We can't get tests for any reason here without symptoms. Ideally I would have taken one this week before starting the drive, but there's no way. Even if I did take it I would be back home by the time the results came in!

Susan, hope they can give DD and the kids some shade. Avoiding COVID isn't much use if they all get heat stroke!

Kat, word of advice: do not wear a black T shirt to Café du Monde. Especially if you might sneeze. Do not ask me how I know what happens when you sneeze while lifting a powdered sugar beignet to your mouth.

      Mmm, pralines. Love them.

4 this morning, 3.5 this evening. Evening run took forever.

A bit sniffly this evening. We would have been married 30 years today. And not one person has said a word about it. I was hoping my mother or my sister (who was also the maid of honor) might remember.
