      Rest day for meeee!!!

I will be selfish and say this is a MUCH deserved rest day. Put in some WORK this week Smile Glad I did the long run yesterday..really nasty out there. I think that dewpoint is at 75. Very tropical. Was a little concerned about running my last "working" run tomorrow - but looks like we are going to have on and off rain showers with 30mph wind gusts. I have ran in worse than that before and I will take the rain with these awful dewpoints. I did read that we are going to get some Fall weather at the end of next week. I will believe it when I see it! I don't think Fall is ever coming.

Schools around here are closed. They made that call on Monday when Florence was coming straight for us. Its going to be a ghost town here at work today. Most of my team is out..just me and MAMMEL. UGGGHHHH. I am in for a very boring day!

Brother should be at the house by the time I get off. Excited to see baby E!! Smile Smile Should be a fun weekend! HCF is also celebrating 10 years sober tomorrow!!! I want to take him to a nice dinner. I got him a little something, too Smile

Kathryn – There weren’t that many options for Airbnb. The biggest I found was 2 bedroom. It wouldn’t be super close..I will have to do some more searching today. Goliath is AWESOME. I can be biased because I have a weird thing for Billy Bob Thornton.

Run4kupcakes – Interesting! What was your mileage cap again?? Before that starts happening? I stopped bleeding last night..so weird. Its like your body is saying STOP IT. Haha. BUMMER about the LS quarter zip! I would be super annoyed.

Sandy – Hopefully you have a slower work day today! Glad you didn’t wallow Smile What else do you have on tap this weekend besides tomorrows volunteering?

Lisa – Oh Lisa. I am so sorry about your niece. Sounds like she had a tough go. My thoughts are with your family today! OOOOO family meeting?! Have you met them before?! 38 mile fun run? Those words should not be together in one sentence.

Happy Friday! Stay safe those in Florence's path. I have been glued to the live coverage.

Lizzie - I agree, it is a much deserved rest day for you!!!

Lisa - So sorry and sad about your niece.  Enjoy the Memphis trip.

Ginny - Yay for you on retirement papers!!!

Glass City...are many doing the Full???  I am trying to decide which I am doing.   As far as rooms go, (especially if I do the full) I may just get my own room..I am not a good sleeper, and “ain’t nobody” going to want to put up with that commotion all night!  I do want to stay where the majority of you all are tho Smile

warmer and and humid here...did my loop yesterday.  Hoping to get DH out for a hike in the woods today, and LR in the trails tomorrow!

        Hi to all!!!

        Mighty Mouse

Thursday the fog/rain lifted so it was a good 45 minutes running with my friend. A woman stopped us in the park to warn us. In just 1 month she was followed and chased by some guy, then some other creepy guy tried to engage her into conversation. Hopefully she will tell the police. They are good about patrolling the park. Sunday Buddy and I also have some guy who has been following us in his car. Who released all the weirdos???

Today I hope to join my friend on her run.

          Happy runs, All!

          Where is the "any" key?

          Half Crazy K 2.0

Lizzie, somewhere between 7 and 8:hours if running, so 35-40 miles for me.

Yoga was nice last night. Was a Hatha class which is pretty much beginner with explanation of poses and breathing. Fine for me since I don't want to push muscles yet and there is ALWAYS something to be learned, especially when there are those new to the activity. Got out for first run since the 100k. 4.75 miles this morning. I've actually felt kind of bad for not having run my route for a bit. When I run the part that goes behind a church and the Arby's, there's a brick half wall separating the retail stuff from the street behind. I sort of hop through a downed fence section between the church and Arby's. Most days I see an older heavy man sitting on his porch on the other side of the street (there is a half brick wall between street and me).  At first I thought he must wonder about me cutting through the fence but after a bit he started to wave to me. Now it's like a routine to see him and wave on the out and the back. I'm sure it was my imagination but he seemed relieved to see me back out there this morning.  I'm weird but I like that sort of routine stuff. Never said a word to him, just wave at each other.

I've had more than a few inquiries into "didn't you get bored out there" and "what did you think about?"... tried to remember today during my run and I really can't recall ever feeling bored. I also can't recall thinking about anything other than what I was doing at the moment or maybe about the next section or aid station. LOVED THAT! I also do remember thinking how the time will just sort of slide by and the next thing I knew it did. I wasn't really "zoned out" but there would be times when i would come to an aid station and almost not remember how I got there. As in the brain sort of moving into neutral while dealing with what is happening at the moment. Crazy but I can't wait for the next long run like that where time kind of stands still. Anyone else have that happen? Even on today's run, I was almost done and all of a sudden thought... Obviously I ran back from where I waved at the guy but I barely remember it. Maybe I shouldn't admit that.

Hotel stuff.. If anyone else sees a Marriott property that they like better, let me know. Use the code mpp to see the explorer rate and I'll reserve. I probably can reserve rooms in more than one hotel, just only up to 3 at that rate in the same. I'm also open to AirBnB if that's the way we go. Heck... if you read the part above, you can just put me looping around a block and apparently I won't know the difference.

Lizzie-have a Happy VD?!  Not selfish to think the rest day is deserved, silly! You have put in the work and you do deserve the rest day.. your body sure deserves the rest day. 38 miles at night on trails IS the very definition of Fun Run! You are a silly girl! LOL

Carol-My glass is completely FULL in the city. LOL Put a 5:45 finish time. I plan on racing it.

Judy-hope the weirdos go back inside again soon.

              Lisa

TGIF! I don't want to do anything!!!  Didn't sleep well and blew off the pool.  I've been kinda bitchy all morning. I think I just need some quiet time.

We watched Smokey and the Bandit last night.  Haven't see it since it was released.  Still funny, but film makers couldn't get away with some of those scenes nowadays.

DD dropped Gracie off at our house this morning for a play date. Really rocked Skye's world, I'm sure. I put out extra chewy toys

Phone: still don't have gmail. Ugh. Will call IT this morning. Again. Such a PITA. At least I have Facebook and Strava back on.

                Lizzie--stay safe!

                Hopefully today will pass quickly.

                Former Bad Ass

Morning!  I'm off today, yay.  Pilates and 7 tonight.  I still have not talked to Richard about Glass City.  What's the closest big city from it?

                  Liz, enjoy the rest.

Carol, nice job putting the runs in the humid weather.

Judy, ugh.  Why can't men leave women alone while exercising?  Want to meet women?  Get in a group or something but leave us alone while running.

                  HCK, nice running time.

Lisa, yeah, that is one of the reasons why I love running.  I never get bored.

Sue, ugh at the IT issues.

                  Trails

Judy it's cooler now so they are coming out of the woodwork.  Be safe.

Lisa...Kettle sounds intriguing. I found info here https://www.runrace.net/findarace.php?id=18153WI&tab=a2.  Never been to WI so not sure what that would be like.  I'm still thinking my first may be Lean Horse or Ulmstead due to the easy nature of the courses.  I am not fast on root and rocks so that is my biggest concern in making cutoffs. My condolences on your niece.

This traveling is screwing with my training and I'm so over it.  I can't decide whether to do a 20/10 weekend or just dial it back and do 12/10.  I'd like to spend time with DH but if the weather is nice he'll be up at the barn cleaning stuff.  I do have a week's worth of casino smoke stinky clothes to wash and packing to do.  Plus I'm sure my puppies missed me.

Have to get back to finishing the Risk Assessment for today's meeting.  Then I get to drive home.

                    Hi everyone.  Welcome back Bertha.

Diane, why not start with a goal of 12 but push it to as much as 20 if you feel good and hubby is cleaning the barn?

I have had three cups of coffee this morning and I feel like I could fall asleep right now.

I've been kinda bitchy all morning. I think I just need some quiet time.

This pretty much describes me to a T lately. I've been getting about two hours less sleep a night, and this girl needs her sleep. I am trying not to complain too much, and I do love this puppy, but 99% of it is falling on me. Yes, i don't work so the majority should fall on me, but come on. Somebody else (and let's be honest, there's only two of us here) lift a fucking finger on occasion.

And Riley......sweet sweet Riley is a playing maniac. He wears out the puppy and then wants to keep playing so he comes to me. I am exhausted, buddy. I don't want to play tug with your spit-covered toy.

Lisa, fair warning. I get bitchy when I don't get a lot of sleep. You have my permission to call me on it and remind me it's lack of sleep talking.

Anyone still on the fence about Brazos Bend - if you want to go and haven't signed up yet, they only have a few hundred spots left, and no waiting list. They anticipate selling out within a month.

It's race weekend for Elina!!!!! Anyone else racing this weekend?

Liz, not selfish at all, enjoy the rest day. And enjoy the weekend with your brother and especially little E.

Carol, I'm doing the full at Glass City. The half was really tempting since I have Ohio twice already, but if the weather cooperates I'm going to try to get a 2020 BQ there.

                        Judy, be careful out there.

Susan, hope you get the phone issues straightened out - this is taking forever!

Damaris, well since we fired Richard from picking races.....come to Glass City. It's nice and flat. Detroit is closest for flying (unless you fly directly to Toledo, but they are pretty close together). Cleveland is I think just a couple hours if Detroit is weirdly expensive, but it usually isn't.

Diane, travel does make training difficult. Do what you can.

TRX/Bells class this morning.  I requested lots of glute stuff to help with my piriformis and I think it worked!  Feels much better.  I think I just have a lazy ass that doesn't want to fire haha.  Will run short (5ish) tomorrow and see how it goes.

Work is a nightmare right now.  There was an acquisition and my group (all 3 of us) are taking on a LOT of work.  Stressful learning all the new systems.  Plus trying to jump through hoops to get access when the networks are far from being converged.  All that on top of the day to day which has also been plenty busy.

Gonna be steamy here this weekend.  Well, steamy for MN in Sept.  Besides volunteering tomorrow morning (will probably go into the afternoon) I've got nothing on tap.  Probably just hang out in the A/C

Lizzie - of course you so super deserve the rest day!!  You have been working your ASS off!!  Hooray for visitors including cute baby-E. And super congrats to HCF on 10 years!  I'm actually volunteering at a Walk for Recovery tomorrow.  Sept is Recovery Month.  My former RB is in recovery and head of a non-profit so helping her out.  Packers vs. Vikings at Lambeau on Sunday!!  Tell HCF - Go Vikes!!    Huge bummer about Florence messing with your vacay but glad you are taking some time off.  I think I would have done EXACTLY what you are doing.  Two long weekends - woohoo!!  How was your spaghetti??  LOL

Carol - my glass is full, too!!  Had to steal silly Lisa's pun hee hee  Cracking up at your commotion in the night LOLOLOL

Judy - yikes!  What is with all the creepers??  Stay safe!!

Lisa - awwww that's sweet of the man you wave to!  There is this VERY elderly gentleman in town that walks kind of stooped over with a walker.  He does not always go the same route and neither do we but it's always fun to see him.  I think it was last year sometime we hadn't seen him in a while and were getting worried but then he was back!  So so very sorry for you and your family on the loss of your niece.  Heart breaking for all of you but nice she has found peace.  My sympathies.  Have a great weekend in TN!!  Oh, and no, I have never run Kettle Moraine - ti's quite a few hours from me.

HCK - well that sucks about the race swag!  I'd be annoyed, too.  But, hope you have a great race!!

Karen - loved your puppy run!  And high fives to Huck for potty success!  I totally agree that growth happens on those shitty runs.  I guess I always just question if I should have pushed through to grow more?  But, then the wisdom of age (or whimpiness) takes over haha.  Yes!  I totally remember you throwing Glass City out there sitting around in DL!  I was psyched because it had been on my radar!  This is going to be an EPIC adventure!  Awwww you sound like a new momma!  Hang in there!  Sounds like DH needs to be on weekend duty!

Cathy - you know you're a runner when it's "only" 9mi.  Are you off today or did you have to get up at Lizzie hour?  Oooh, Rolls Royce garbage disposal sounds amazing!  I actually got rid of mine when I did my little kitchen refresh last year.  No surprise this non-cook never really used it.  Good luck to you and DD this weekend!  Guessing it's gonna be kinda steamy for you, too?  At least it's "just" a 5K

                          Ginny - WOOHOO!!!  Congrats!!!

Kat - glad you are enjoying Goliath!  I liked Season 1 better than the 2nd.  Also a fan of BBT.

Damaris - hooray for day off!

Diane - safe travels and good luck with the weekend running.

Let's hope work is a touch more calm today.  I'm SO ready for the weekend!

Lisa - Sounds Like  you were definitely in the “zone” for your 100k!  That is sweet that the old man and you acknowledge each other.

Judy - It is so unsettling that there are weirdos that we all have to watch out for!!!

Karen - I am LMAO (with you-of course) about just the two of you living there....hoping he has a few years before he retires...’cause let me tell ya 24/7 DH....

Sue - I definitely get bitchy if I don’t have some quiet time!  Hope you get your quiet time soon!

Diane - Ugh, can’t imagine a week of casino clothes Sad

Damarias - Would be great to meet you at GC...I already know your glass would be FULL Smile

i am thunking my glass is going to be FULL, too, my only reservation is that I will be gone to New Zealand for 2 weeks first of March that will interfere with training, but we will be hiking a ton...so will not be just lounging around.

Sandy - The commotion is real....went to my first tri with a couple of friends.  They slept in the same bed,  I had my own, in the morning their bed looked liked no one moved, they said mine looked like an egg beater was in it...
