Notes

It was meant to be an easy run in terms of effort but this run nealy "Killed me". I started nicely up-hill as I normally do ... nice and easy having set my mind that today's will be my longer run for the week. For first 1 to 2 miles my breathing appeared erratic (Not like me at all). Then I thought that eventually I will get into a rhythm as we all get days like this. At 6th mile point it became really bad. Then I realised that I had picked up something and it was my chest bothering me. Over the last 10 days I had a bit of a cough but nothing major and ignored it. Today I realised that I should not have put my lungs through this test but did not know. So, there was no way back as I was half way doing the loop. The music kept me going but Oh My God at 8th and 9th point mile I thought this is me. Then because my breathing was so erratic I started developing a stitch on the right hand side of my tammy with this spreading all over my upper stomach for the last mile. Pins and needdles. I had to take slow deep breaths and try not to hyperventalate because of the pain. I managed just to arrive home to find myself right into a hot bath with a Lemship Drink for my cold. I still do not know how I managed this run. This came out of nowhere. In long distance running one has to anticipate the impossible at times. I very rarely regret doing my runs through pain and challenge but this was something else. If I had known that my body was ill I would have not done so. Again if anyone had offered me a lift I would have welcomed it but there was no way I was going for a hike. As at most times I put my brave face and looked normal but I only knew what I was going though at the time. Not a nice experience today's run but God Looked After Me again so cannot complain. Good excuse to pamper myself now.
