My first run from Springholm. A nice route and a tough one because there is 1.5 first mile steady climb up then down hill with 3 miles thereafter fairly flat but in the end there is a 2 mile up hill. It is very a interesting course and a good one training for the Loch Ness Marathon. I call it Bruno's course (Bruno The Dog) because 5 miles out of the route I used to run it with Bruno several times a few years ago. Bruno was my running companion in running long distance for 6 months (4 times a week). Bruno and I run the KBT Half Marathon together to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind in 2004 and we did really well. So, nice memories again but Bruno no longer here. I run thinking of my Whiskers and I felt he was there at times next to me. I just feel an extreme sense of freedom when I think of him. There was a wild side in him ... this is why I used to call him "My Mini Tiger" and his sense for idependence fascinated me. We were so similar in many ways. Both determined to the task, devoted, loving movement and stretching, purring and being psychic and intuitive. My next race will be dedicated to my Whiskers. However, to go back to running the run today was for first 5 miles great. I run without CS and light but during last 2.5 miles I felt physically tired and the right leg started complaining a bit with the left upper part of it (hip and groin) bothering me a little bit. This strain on the groin is still with me. However, my body now has been accustomed to running faster at all levels (flat, down hill or up-hill). I feel more like a faster runner even on easy days which is promising. I chose not to take timing all the time but only when I will focus on speed as I find it more relaxing as it gives me the choice to go with the body rather than the watch. So, this was a positive start here from the Anvil.
