Inspired by The Coach this time after reading the article about the 'Reno Stirrat Session' and Fartlek workouts.

So, I did in my own way, a Mini Fartlek workout this morning. It was fun despite the fact that my legs are not great lately. The bio-mechanics of my whole body are weird with nigglings and numbing and whatever else from CS and IT band issues etc.

So, this morning I went out there thinking of what Coach has achieved for his young age and I was being inspired once again. I could have not careless about the pains and I wanted to have fun. So, this is what I did.

I warmed up for first 2.5 miles and then did:-

5min X 1 tempo at 08:30 min pace with 2 min recovery, then

3min X 1 at 8 min pace followed by

1minX 3 at 7:40 pace with 1 min recovery and

1/5 mile warm down.

It felt better during the workout rather than the beginning of the run. I had pains and ackes to start with and worried about whether I would make it back. Left leg at the part of the knee and below felt strained and this was referring up to the outer side of left thigh. However, nothing major happened during the workout and I felt strong and was faster than had expected. I think it is the extra weight a bit that has caused some form of imballance to my overall body. It will take some more time to re-adjust but I will get there. I wanted to run fast during the workout. I was really amazed on how well I managed this.

Now I want more and more and that's the trouble.

So, All in All as they say I am thankful and of course I shall be listening to the body. Today's workout was interesting and fun.
