Notes

Sun and Rain today alternating. Pretty mild though. Slightly windy too. When the sun comes out even for a short while one can see people and dogs everywhere and when rain and wind comes everyone disappears as by magic.

I went for my usual loop around river Nith and Mabie way. I feel comfortable in this route as I am close to home whatever happens to the foot. So, I miss the running in the country and up on the Galloway hills but I have to be sensible especially over the last 5 weeks as I am living on my own. Frankie and Evgenia away from base.

I listened to my music, enjoyed the sun each time came out to say ‘Hi’ and took plenty of oxygen. It is something about the countryside and running in the open fresh air that nothing can beat it. I will never be a tread mill runner to the day I leave this life. It is not me. Always contrarian when it comes to running as in life / sometimes. But this is what makes me feel that I own my running and when I can run it is perfection of balance in my body and soul.

I run at a fairly even pace maintaining below 10 min miles. I felt comfortable in this pace only I forgot to activate Garmin for first mile. It is strange but when I was exactly at first mile point and did not hear the Garmin sound I realised that I missed to activate. However, my brain had taken notice of this and when did not happen reminded me of this. How weird is this? How the mind imprints things that we are not mindfully aware!!!!! The brain is a massive thing and how it works it’s ways’ for good and bad.

So I logged a 5.5 altogether today. It was all good and therapy for my soul. Another run in my RL and I feel so happy for this. Thankful to God forever and beyond.

25th August was the day of my perennial muscle injury / 9 weeks ago and the muscle still holds although allows me to progress comfortably to 6 miles and also add the weekly miles. Still though there seems to be fragile and I need to be cautious. This is a very sneaky injury that at times as Dr said may take up to 6 months if not careful. So, put together all my troubles I am taking careful running steps and take time for a full recovery.

'Run Smart' as the Coach would order!!!
