Notes

It was only yesterday that I entered in my log weather conditions here in Scottish land and it's unpredictability. Well, to my disbelief, following a brilliant sunshine and playing out in the garden with the bunnies Franc and I in a quite warm day and right in the middle of the day I set off for my run.

The plan was initially to run 6 miles but also entertaining the idea of the 8 miles. When I left home it was a brilliant sunshine and warm. I wore an extra thin layer in case but nothing heavy as I had made the decision to stay close to home and do the loop in no more than 2 miles range. Long story short, I arrived home completely frozen and my hands felt almost having frost bites / red & blue. I was caught in heave hail stones half way in my run, windy conditions on the Mabie Rd and then sun and then rain and all weathers again. I had to run faster to keep warm and reach home. This was not fun. Children & families in the near by park looked cold and unprepared for this weather that came out of nowhere. So, I was so angry with myself after having written all the stories yesterday but to have this happening so fast in a very warm sunny day it is crazy. Scotland has weather no climate. This is it.

No matter how many years I will have to live here it is beyond belief especially to a Greek person to be prepared for these sudden changes. Luckily I was close to home and not up on the country hills. I loved my hot shower and a hot cup of tea with a delicious scone / jam / butter and homemade fresh cream. Yummy! The good things that Scotland can offer following a miserable day weather wise.

As for the run, I did feel a bit tired and heavy for first miles but felt more motivated and lively as time went on. Never trust the sun again, not here.

Toe joint punished me hard today for last 2 miles. Maybe the freezing / cold hail stones on my bones and body. I felt every bone in my body becoming rigid and cold on the instant.
