Notes

Fast pace for this course and I showed the hills & down hills who is the boss.

LH surprised Frankie today. We started together and while Franc was taking the road up to the hills he thought I dropped behind making a different loop via cycle path to the home. But to his surprise here I was at exactly 5 mile point (half way in our run) running towards him crossing the big roundabout on the busy road of the A75. I will never forget his face when he was saying 'I did not expect to see you here'. So, this was it from there onwards I raced the hills and down hills to make up so to meet him later on at the 10th mile point. He must have been running hard and fast thereafter as I did not have the chance to see him again.

When I looked at my Garmin I was taken aback of how fast I was on this hard course. I knew I run hard but I was not really racing but using maybe 90 % effort.

I could feel my right leg a bit near the end of my run with slight tightness up the hamstring and glut area. I also had some tightness on the right foot at the base of all toes. I think the Saucony Cohesion is a great shoe for low miles but not for longer distance as it does not have the additional support on the forefoot which I usually need. I need support and a flexible shoe. So, soon I will be hunting again for a new shoe.

As for my run I felt great today. Weather was nice, much warmer and sunny, the route (which I call Frankie's route) was great with no traffic and the whole thing was amazing.

I did my first Dec months / 11 miles and 250 yards in a great time. I think now I will achieve better results with my new lifestyle / Nutrition. All I need is another 6 weeks to maintain what I have already started and sky will be my limit. But I need shoes so desperately. Maybe soon?

This was a great day. Running is so important in my life so much so that makes the sun come out even in Scotland.
