Another enjoyable run in the rain this time at a very easy pace and with minimal effort. There is no doubt that I am getting back to shape. I did these hills without feeling for a sec the steady climb up. I know it will take me a while to reach my old fitness levels but things are moving in a pretty good pace. For me the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the miles I put in. The effort must be determined by the ability of the physical body and not of the mind. I am following the body and feels great. Today I could hear the sound of the Garmin miles and completely ignored it. I never looked at it once because the main thing for me was that I was feeling good. It has been a while since I felt this way and I do value every step of the way.

Franc was cycling in the rain back and fourth/ up and down. We call this the 'Bruno' course as once 7 to 8 yrs ago I used to train with my beautiful four legged friend dog. It reminds of him who left us so young indeed due to a stroke. I run with him and raised £3000 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind. He was great. So, the course is named after him for the right reasons.

Anyway Franc looked great physically. He is putting in a few good miles daily now but still cannot take the running steps. Hopefully soon. Trial and Error.

It was wet today but very pleasant. No problems with my thumb, legs or CS. Just very slight symptoms of the latter but with some massage from Franc at the end of my run legs felt strong. I know it is the mild weather that helps the legs now. CS thrives winter time when I do need to use compression socks too. So, at least I know that warmer weather helps. I live with the hope that it will leave me alone some day and I will win the demons.

I am so pleased overall as I had several good running weeks with no issues whatsoever. Two more weeks here and that's us on the way to Dumfries. Different scenery, different running routes to discover, more time to rest and less time to travel. Big but positive step and to everyone's advantage. Evgenia will be 18 yrs tomorrow already. She is so excited to be so close soon to the Ice Rink. Her life is on ice now.
