It is not rocket science to know when CS strikes. Because it makes no difference whether you run on the flat, up or down hill !!! You cannot just run fast and that is it. It is like someone is holding you down to the ground. You are basically grounded from within the body. But you fight to release the chains and break through. And that is all that matters then. It becomes almost an invisible enemy that you can only see and feel. No-one else can. As far as others around you are concerned you look the same as everyone else but you are not. You are carrying this weight physically, emotionally and mentally!!!! It's name is Compartment Syndrome. And then you realise that you do not have to compete against others because you have enough to contemplate with. So, you become watchful every second and you are in your guard. An average 11:18 min per mile feels as it is a 7 min per mile effort. And then you lose measure of what body can achieve. It is so difficult when you really want to run........You desire it, You work hard for it, You are all there 100 % but it is not going to do it for you. This is CS on its. glory. But in the end I win in my own small way I reply that I am not going to give up. I am stronger than you. And to prove it I have done the Boston Marathon. And I I can do that then I can do everything. And this keeps me going to the next big challenge.

This is me having a self-talk, a comfort talk. Today it was good after all because I kept going. Actually I became faster in the end. So, All is good.
