Course not laid out according to USATF Certified map. Not sure if it was short, long, or right on. Pretty close, though.
Paced this one just about perfectly. First half felt comfortably hard. After the first mile I was in 5th place, but felt 6th on my heels. 6th place guy caught me after mile 2. We ran together for about a mile, but I could tell by his breathing that he would not be able to keep it up for the second lap. Lap 2 was a challenge because we were plowing through almost the entire 5k field. Pushed hard and got a side stitch the last mile, but held on for a 2-second negative split. 14 seconds off my PR, I'm happy with it.
Looks like I faded in the last .2, but I think the mile markers were just off.
