Notes

Went back to Duke yesterday and had another x-ray. Still no indication of a stress fracture or any signs of healing. Either I'm not healing which seems unlikely, or there may not have been a stress fracture at all. It may have been a stress reaction (basically the precursor to a stress fracture where the bone swells but doesn't crack. More of an edema or bone bruise). The other option is a soft-tissue injury like a tendon or ligament injury. I would have expected more swelling or bruising in that case. It's a bit of a mystery at this point.

It's also possible that I'm being overly cautious/paranoid about my foot. Nothing really hurts, but I feel "things". One is a clicking, rolling feeling on the outside of my foot. It's probably the peroneal tendon. It doesn't hurt. I just feel it slip sometimes when rolling my foot. May be completely normal and I've always had it.

The other "thing" is at the top of my foot near my smallest toes. This is in the area of the extensor tendons.

The run today felt fine other than being out of shape. I felt like I could have done quite a bit more, but don't want to push it until I see how it reacts. There were no issues during the run or immediately after.

My plan is to ignore these mild "discomforts" that I have and only worry about actual pain (probably >3).
