Notes

Beautiful race, best trail in Prague with amazing people behind. Perfect weather for hiking (a bit too much sun for running). And new PB on 2 laps for me, plus again I was first at 600m mark (downhill after start).

Except that, everything else went horribly wrong for me. Already during first lap I felt the 2 laps will be too long for me, as I'm still quite exhausted after VltavaRun, and the regeneration during week didn't work out as fast as it should. I tried to cover that by eating and drinking a bit more at refreshment stations, and while it didn't cause any "heavy guts" feel during run, it didn't save me from hitting wall either. When I hit wall at SUTR, I hit it hard. This time I was still able to walk slowly at least, or even run, when it was flat or going down a bit. On the second lap in the stone downhill (~29km?) I sprained my left ankle. Felt very badly at the moment, but it was mostly just muscles and tendons in shock, and already cramp-y from exhaustion, after a minute of standing (walking was too painful) the muscles loosened finally, and the recheck of damage was looking much better, just overstretched muscles, but everything holding together, walking possible, and after another 15min even some slow running on flat surface was without pain. A day later I can feel some minor damage when I focus on it, but ankle is mostly fit. But this pain shock sap the final remains of energy out of me, so from thereon the rest of lap was pure challenge of will. This time I kept walking all the time without sitting/laying (like previous year), so I managed to improve my 2 lap PB by 12minutes... :D ... Still over 4h. #JBMNT, next year I will go for single lap, and try some nice time. The first lap was difficult (tired from VltavaRun), but that was well manageable and the single lap performance would be quite good I think.

The split times are very similar to previous year, but I recall to feel very well after first lap (till half of second), so this time I did hit exhaustion like half lap earlier, but managed to finish still in better time. So after all I think the body is now capable of more and coping better. But I have to figure out how to tune it better for race, and keep it together, without the emergency no-energy walk.

Right Achilles as bad as it was. Weight is after two meals and hydration, so quite low?

The Crivit shoes are too warm for this weather, and as they don't fit my style perfectly, the 35+km was too long... with the dry track I wished for my old Lasers so many times... Crivit may be worth only in wet mud, otherwise never more for a race like this.
