The pace felt easy. The temps were good. I did a good job taking gels every 2-3 miles and electrolytes at the half.

But I noticed from go that still felt beat up. I've often wondered at the beginning of a training cycle if I'm really fully recovered from the last cycle/race. It's probably no coincidence that my marathon PR came after taking 18 months off from marathon racing. And so, with that thought... I'm suspending myself from training for, and RACING marathons until next fall - 2018. Jog trails the rest of this year. Speed in the spring. Detroit in the fall.

MTA: as of 5/12/17 this plan has changed. Cut back in volume to ensue with more quality... after I finish recovery. I may try a lower volume / higher quality marathon cycle this fall, depending on how speed work goes this summer. 70-75 mile weeks have proven to be too much. 60ish might be better.
