ACTUAL NET TIME = 1:22:03 but I stopped to pee
Half marathon. Probably not a great time, but I'm happy with it. The time I put on is the time from my watch. The "actual" time is to be added when I find the time. I had to stop and pee, so it is probably off by no more than a minute. I figure if a race is over an hour one minute doesn't matter.
The race was not great. I started in the back, which is how I like it, but that means that I ended up working harder at the beginning. To add to that, I had to stop and pee at the first stop, because the lines were ridiculous before the race. I also ended up going out too fast. I ran the first five miles in 29:10. After that I went kind of downhill, and miles 8-11 were around 630 pace, although it went up and down. When someone passed me I picked up the pace and followed them. Then when alex passed me, I stuck with him for a mile or so, until he kicked the last couple hundred yards. He ended up beating me by a lot, but the actual times were only a couple seconds off, because I started in the back. He did win. Also, Kevin won the half marathon. Say what you will, but that is impressive.
As for the marathon. I think this bodes well. I knew I wasn't prepared enough, but I still ran well. And if I had paced myself, I think it would have felt a lot easier.
