-Thought 3:40 sounded reasonable to go out in
-With downhill at start ~3:25 felt super easy
-Decided to shoot for 3:30's
-That was ambitious
-Things were getting painful at 3km -- but hey, only 5km to go!
-Group of 3 (me inc.) held together until 5km. One guy pulled off probably holding 3:33's
-Other dude started struggling at 5.5-6km, falling back off my shoulder.
-At 6km I considered yelling "only 7 more minutes!" -- good job i didn't
-At 7km dude that was struggling behind me was about 2 steps back, so I yelled at him "C'mon! 1 more!!"
-At 7.1km shit turned uphill, which is just mean
-At 7.4km shit was a slight downhill -- awesome!
-At 7.5km back to uphill -- balls
-At ~7.7km buddy I yelled at 700m ago passes me a bit, good for him
-At 7.8km some girl on the sidelines yells "Go Elliot!", who the fuck was that? I can't see the sidelines clearly. How does that person know me? Oh right, my name is on my race number
-8.0km Holy crap that hurt
Gatorade, banana, cookie. Lots of walking. Stretch calves. Jog home.
