Notes

Well, I really surprised myself today. I felt really sluggish on the warm-up, but did some strides and seemingly loosened up my legs just a little bit. When we started, Matt and Adam immediately opened up a huge gap. I knew it was going to be a long workout, but those dudes looked like studs! Furthermore, I felt like I was running a little bit wreckless myself. I was uncertain about whether or not I could hold on to my pace, and didn't think I was going to catch either of them. Much to my surprise, around the 3rd or 4th set, I caught them both. Soon thereafter, Adam dropped off and ended the workout @ 5 or 6 sets. Matt and I seemed to be on slightly different time intervals, but it was fun going back and forth with him. Because the intervals were so short, I didn't pay that much attention to my watch. However, I knew that I was sub 5:20 and that I felt strong. By the last 2 sets, I felt like a badass. My paces in the final set were 5:01, 4:58, 4:37. HOLY SHIT! I didn't think I was that strong yet. Just to be cautious and not peak early, I think it's wise to refrain from picking up my training paces yet. I'll just keep enjoying myself and roll with the punches!
