Notes
After the Leaves Have Fallen, Minnewaska State Park, NY.
Started easy then picked it up too fast. Blew by people I knew I should of been running with around mile 3. Hit 5 mile at 36 flat still feeling good. Around mile 8-8.5 at big hill hit the wall, legs hardly moved and mentally done. Should of known I didn't have enough miles in the bank. Limped along for final 4 miles, until a a friend (who's also a 40+yr old woman) came up behind me and I found the pride to kick it in and sprint the last quarter mile to hold her off. My friend Shawn ran approx 2:08. If I had run as fast as last year's time (1:34), I would of finished 3rd in my age group. Finished 45th overall. Race was great for first 8, really enjoyable, but not fun at all for the last 4.
