Race to the sea is a relay that covers ~120 km between the 4 lighthouses on the southwest coast of Newfoundland. There are 11 different legs. I ran leg 10 which is described as another challenging leg with long uphill climbs and steep descents. Sections of this route follow along the coastline, past Otter Bay, an area good for salmon fishing. A couple more hills and you will pass the community of Burnt Islands. Two more Kilometers and the leg finishes at Grandy's River Collegiate. My leg started at 4:55 pm with the temperature on the higher ground at 25 C and in the valleys it was up to 30C and there was little if no wind. Boy it was hot!!
