Notes
Marshall University Marathon day started cool and clear in the early morning...Race started on time but there were no timing mats at the start and even no start line mark, which meant we were on gun time...Pacing a group to try and finish in 4:30 was made that much more difficult since I had no idea what the offset was...Ran my group way way to fast and they paid the price for my mistake...1st loop we ended up 2.5 minutes under goal...Not to bad, but it ended up crushing my group...From 14 to 18 there was a vicious head wind and even though I lead the whole group into it, the damage was done...By 22 I was by myself...I did pick up some stragglers thru the flood wall and slowed down for them to latch onto me and we ran in at a slowed pace...All of this was on me and my inability to slow the f down...Lesson learned if I ever do this again...No problems at all with the butt...Only thing at all physical were a couple of blisters on my toes, but they were no hindrance what so ever...
