Notes
it was hot out, i should have rested my plantar fascitis but i wanted to have a good time and my current 10k pr came at a 10k i did 2 weeks after a marathon so i signed up. didnt look at the course which would have told me this is not a pr race. rolling 1st mile i didnt feel much pep in my step, was working a little too hard but felt like i was going slow, wanted to be between 625 and 645 each mile, first mile beeps on the garmin at 619, a pleasant surprise and a huge shot of confidence that i had been lacking in the first mile. we started uphill before the 2 mile mark and i had slowed considerably to 714 UGH, thats what i felt like i was running in the first mile - confidence gone. miles 2 to 4 a steady climb which started to eat away at me. a turn then the last 2.2 downhill miles which were better but still slower than i wanted 705, 654 and the .2 was at 6min pace. nothing to write home about thats for sure. realized this is the first 10k i have done in a year, i (usually but not today) like 10ks, need to do some more this year to wash the stink of this race off.
