Notes

Second stage of the 2016 Tour du Canton. This was a hillier course than last week, which made the race feel quite a bit tougher, but it went well and I came away in third place this week.

As we did last week, we went out this time in a pretty good pack, with the front two guys taking off and not seeing them again. However, the early hills strung out the pack pretty quickly, and by about 4k I was already by myself in third, with the next people about ten seconds back. I ran the rest of the race that way, looking over my shoulder and hoping they wouldn't catch me. That's definitely one of the hardest ways to run a race, but I held them off - and was exhausted at the end!

During the cool down I noticed some pretty serious pain in my foot, in what I thought was my arch. I got through the cool down fine, but will need to take care of this.. It turned out not to be the arch itself, but actually something (perhaps a tendon?) on the top of the foot all the way on the side, just above the arch. Not sure what that is...
