Set 1: Quarters at 5k pace, recovery at 60,60,50,50,40,30,20
Set 2: All recovery at 45s, with quarters starting at 5k pace and dropping 1s per rep
Dug out a classic Pete workout for this morning, and was really pleased with how it went. It's a tough session, first challenging the aerobic system with the vanishing rest and then challenging my speed as the pace ratchets down. But I held really good paces all the way through, and while I was working hard at the end of both sets, it was only the end of the second when I was near-sprinting that I was truly laboring for the first time. Held pretty consistent 74/75s during the first set, and then did a good job dropping the reps in the second set, hitting 70s and then dipping under on the last two. I was pleasantly surprised at both how smooth 74/75s quarters felt, and how quickly I recovered beween reps. All in all really good stuff this morning.
