I headed to the track this morning to do a set of Aussie quarters for the first time this season, and it went awesome. I had to go very early - ahead of my 9am flight to the US this morning - so it took me a little longer than usual to feel awake and comfortable during the warm-up, but once I got to the track things felt good. I was able to push the workout through 10 reps, holding really solid 74-75 second ON pieces, and about 46 second OFFs. The "recoveries" were a bit slower than I would have liked - by maybe 2 seconds - but the ONs were 2 seconds faster than I had expected to run, so I'll take the difference. Great to push the legs this morning and do something fast, and awesome that I held the 74-second pace all the way through 10 reps. It got especially tough during the last few reps, but even then didn't have to strain too hard to maintain the pace. At the end, I took a bit of recovery and then closed out with 4x200m. The legs were pretty spent for this so they weren't anything special, but again, good to spin the legs a little faster than usual.
