Notes

We hosted the Purple Valley Classic this morning, and it went well. I ran the 8K race since I thought the 5K would be too short, but sadly the weather was not helping us out at all. It was extremely humid which made everything uncomfortable, but nevertheless I ran hard and while not feeling great for all of it (was super exhausted about 5K in, and couldn't breath/had a stitch for last 800m) I pushed through and ended up with an okay time considering the conditions. I was 8th for Williams, and about 20 seconds back from Scott in 7th, but this doesn't include the freshman so we'll see how they figure in to this at Boston in two weeks. All in all much better than the race last weekend and only after one week of workouts, so I'm definitely going in the right direction. The tendon in my foot was feeling much better today after the ice and massage yesterday which was a good sign, and I won't be running again until next Tuesday most likely (alternate tomorrow, pool on Monday) so it should have plenty of time to heal up.
