Did a pretty good tempo today, trying to keep pushing myself in these workouts. The first mile was strong, coming through just under 5:40, but then things slowed down on this hilly route. I worked it hard through the finish, wrapping up at 5 miles. Then did an easy mile, followed by 2 x 2 min at 5k pace. These were pretty quick, and I felt strong as I held about 5:25 pace for both. Definitely need to keep working on my base speed though, so that I can also bring down the pace of the longer pieces.
