Notes

I ran a threshold workout this afternoon to maintain the fitness that I've built up going into the Chappaqua 10K, and it went fairly well. I did 8x1000m starting at 3:15 (about 5:12 pace) and cutting down to 3:09 (about 5:04 pace) with 1 min recovery between each. I ended up hitting 3:15, 3:15, 3:12, 3:12, 3:12, 3:12, 3:10, 3:09. I needed to take a slightly longer break at the halfway point to go to the bathroom (it was an emergency) and so I had about 4 min of recovery at that point. This workout wasn't too bad, but I could tell that my legs were still pretty worn out from my race last weekend. I was laboring a little more than I should have to hit the faster times, and even the fastest that I went wasn't all that quick for repeat 1000's and my legs didn't have any spring in them today. Nevertheless I accomplished what I was looking for - a solid threshold workout - and I'll take the next two days nice and easy to keep boosting recovery.
