Notes
I did a run up Bee Hill today and then down a portion of Oblong for distance, and then back to campus on Rt. 2. I also worked in a tempo workout of 10 min. tempo, 2 min rest, 6 min tempo, 90 sec rest, 3 min tempo, 1 min rest, and then 3 min tempo. I did it in trainers obviously so the tempo was a little bit slow, but every tempo piece was a little bit faster with the first one averaging about 5:55 pace and the last one averaging about 5:20s. The last 3 miles or so back to campus after the workout was then at (supposedly, according to GPS watch) 6:45s even though it felt very slow and recovery-like, so I'm a little confused but not complaining. All in all it was a good run and I was happy with how the tempo pieces went. I did also find my first rabid animal during this run (a squirrel which fell out a tree just in front of me and then ran at me) which got my heart rate up a little unnecessarily.
