Today I took on one of my staple workouts, 8x1000m at threshold w/ 50 seconds recovery. I was incredibly pleased by how well it went -- I came through in 3- :15, :18, :18, :19, :18, :18, :19, :11. I felt really smooth through all of them, was amazed at how evenly I ran my splits throughout, and was able to do this with only 50 seconds rest rather than the minute that I usually take the first time I do this each season. Though this obviously wasn't easy, I wasn't straining the make the times and even the last one (which was much faster) felt smooth, though I was pushing hard at that point. All in all an excellent first shot at this workout, and a great measure of my current fitness.
