I went to the track this evening for my first interval workout since... July? I was ambitious, and ended up paying for it, but overall was pleased with how the workout went. I did 2 mi warm up, and then 7 x 800m at ~10k with 50 sec recovery. I decided to reach a bit and came in for the first couple reps at or under 2:35, but then things caught up to me and I started slowing down. Had originally planned for 8-10 reps, but settled for 7 plus some strides. Finished the workout with 4 x 100m strides, which felt pretty good, and then a mile cool down. Great to get the legs moving a bit - and I definitely want to get some good speed in them while I also work on the baseline endurance - cool to see if I can put them together into something fast next spring.
