I ran my first track workout in several months today, and it went really well. I did my tried-and-true 8x1,000s at threshold, hitting a surprisingly comfortable 3- :17, :20, :19, :19, :19, :20, :17, and :10 with 1 min recovery between each. I followed that up with 4x200m strides and those were perhaps even more surprising- I had switched back into my trainers because my flats gave me a nice blister on one of my toes during the 1,000s, and I did those in 32 low, 31 mid, 31 low, and 30 high with 200 walk/jog recovery (i.e. near-full recovery) between each, which is far faster than I would ever have expected especially after a good workout, in trainers, without going all out. This was all in all a really solid workout that felt strong from start to finish, and shows that I'm getting to be in a pretty good place with still a few weeks to go before the big race!
