First segment of run - five warm up miles in about 8 min flat
Second segment - five miles at approximate marathon pace (by Fall I hope): 7:07 min / mile
Third segment - 4 miles at approximate 1/2 marathon pace (again I hope): 6:40 min / mile
1 mile cool down at 7:38 (which given the preceding two segments of actually seemed slow... like 8 min slow)
Overall pace 7:21 min/mile... not bad considering how slowly I ran the first 5.
Problem area - left hamstring which first bothered me in Boston and had remained dormant since then reared it's ugly head again. 3 hours since the run and I can still feel it. I am going to stretch heavily in a few minutes and hope it settles down. Hopefully, it is just a twinge and I will be able to run the 10 k next weekend.
