Well-organized inaugural race with friendly volunteers and a field of about 100...
Race starts with an uphill before heading into the park trails...Ran steady and held a good pace for the first mile; Started picking off runners during second mile but slowed a little due to hills in wooded trail section;
Found a higher gear for the third mile and rode it in for a strong finish...
Placed 6th Overall and won the 40-49 age group along with a gift card to Road Runner Sports!
Great overall race experience...
Conditions were a cool 66 degrees and gray sky with a breeze...
Hadn't visited Wheaton Regional Park since childhood...
