All systems are go. Decided to run without tights, using elastic calf supports instead. Pinned elastic thigh supports to my compression shorts so they won't slide down (Tall Dave's suggestion - thanks, Dave) and used J&J athletic tape, which is superior to the other brands, to cover the pins and add to the thigh supports while securing them further so they won't slide. Worked perfectly. Ran with fleece hat and gloves (throw aways) and they felt great for these five miles. I'll probably throw the hat first and then the gloves 5-7 miles into the race. Can't wait for the experience and a PR.
