Well, we have reached the end of the end. At least for the team competition. Chaska now will be forever disbanded, hopefully we'll be able to bounce back a little next year. Anyways, the race.
Raining like no other all day so the course was REALLY slippery and muddy. Also this course is probably one of the most challenging ive ever ran, constant rolling hills the WHOLE way. Got out quick and up the hill then settled in in the lead pack. Some punk in an orange jersey was trying to run away with it but i knew he wasnt going anywhere, he faded back quickly. Started developing a pretty bad stomach ache, and felt sour a lot. Got through the first mile and nobody was yelling splits, that made me quite mad. Loved the crowd support though, lots of great cheering. Alec was really doing well today, he probably was the one who kept me going. So glad he was there. Anyways tried moving up on the two shako boys, and as i did, hit a really bogged down spot on the course. Completely drenched my shoes, that wasnt so nice. Got up the first hill by the finish area and went down and almost ate complete poop! MAde it back up with alec leading me, tried to get himm back up again then went around teh course again. Really mentally tough since the fact that i thought there wasnt going to be a turn there when there was! Then I was sent back again, then back up the hill by the other lake and the road. Got back by the finish hill and foss was just yellin at me to go. kicked it in up the hill hoping i was not going to fall and i didnt! Made it down the hill hoping not to fall and bakup, i thougt the finish was right there but it wasnt! got passed by alec schultz and then finished, blah..
Anyways, im really gonna miss these guys, hope the best for chaska next year, so we'll see how this goes, varsity willprob be davis, alec, tony, dan, jake, for top five, after that we'll see....
