Well this was sure an interesting race to say the least. Gun went off and just tried to wedge myself into the pack and within 30 meters I got tripped up by braam, would try to prevent the fall but eventually just went crashing to the ground. Was probably down for about 5 seconds or so, eventually got back up and caught up to everyone. First caught mark, which was rather surprising that he was in the back. After that I would just continue to pick people off the rest of the way. Came through 400 in 65 still which was nuts to hear. Just kept rolling after that. Eventually caught up to stainiger, and after i passed him there was just a huge no mans land gap. Probably about a good 15 meters was the rest of the pack. Just ran by myself from there, hit the 800 in 2:10. Really surprised by this because of the fall. Felt good still. After that I just went from there. Hit the last 400 and still felt pretty good, I would like to know what I ran for it, oh well. Pretty much the only thing left I had to race was that there was some minot state punk trying to catch me, held him off and just kicked it in.
Really grateful that I didnt choose to drop out, I definitely thought about it but I couldnt live with myself doing that, got some pretty bad track burn too as well. Also was worried that I would go past my lt but once again was good.
Happy with the effort given today. We will run well in a week!
