Notes

This was an awesome run! The first 3/4 of a mile was all on about 6 inches of sloppy snow on a trail through the woods in Northland Arboretum. Then the trail dumped us out onto the roads which were clear for the rest of the race. I came through the first mile in about 5:33 and three miles in about 15:10 so my last two miles were about 9:37. I felt super comfortable at that faster pace. It was a very controlled effort and I had fun accelerating into the finish. I heard one guy at the finish say, "Wow, you're taking this really seriously." If moving my legs really fast and having a lot of fun doing it is "serious" then yes, I took that race super seriously! I definitely get a child-like sense of joy from being free to run as fast and as comfortable as I can.
