Notes

Run for the trail 7k race at the ghost town trail. First 2 miles of the race went out on river road to the trail entrance and then finished the last 2.3 on the trail going back. One of the younger runners pushed the pace a little bit for the first mile and we went out in 5:18. I felt good and stayed relaxed and hit the second mile in 5:31. By this time the younger runner backed off a bit and I ended up running the second half of the race alone. I came through the third mile in 5:29 and felt pretty good. I fell off the pace a lot during the fourth mile and ended up running it in 5:48. I was able to finish strong for a final time of 24:05 to win the race. Overall it was a pretty good workout but I definitely feel that there was more left in the tank. I really wish that I didnt fall asleep the fourth mile and I need to work on maintaining the pace during longer races/workouts. My legs felt good throughout the race but towards the end my stomach started to get upset. Hopefully I can figure out a way to fix this so it doesnt bother me during the season. It was a fun run and I'm pretty happy with where Im at right now considering I didnt do many workouts during the summer. Im looking forward to the upcoming season and hopefully I can stay healthy and run some good races.
