First of all, very happy with the numbers of this long run, good distance and pace!
It felt like the longest run of my life, since I was running 1.22 mile loops on an outdoor "track", in 85 degrees and no shade. The loops had their benefit, though, as I was constantly able to monitor my pace (or at least its consistency, as I didn't know the distance until afterwards).
I didn't pace perfectly. I ran the first 45 minutes like a strong mileage run (6.9 miles in 45:25; 6:35 pace). I then slowed down, running the rest at a more normal long run pace (6.1 miles in 42:14; 6:56 pace).
