Race tempo practice.

Run a 3-mile warm-up...take your time settling into pace.

Then run 6 miles at goal marathon pace....I want to test this out a bit Beth...lets try 8:45 pace today and see how this feels right now. How easy/hard is it?

Cool down with 1 mile easy.

****This felt not conversational but not too hard. My legs were getting tired at the end (not really sure why, not that much mileage) but my breathing was easy and comfortable still. I feel like I could have done another 5 like this w/o problems. However, I don't know that I could sustain it for 26 miles--this is almost 25 seconds per mile faster than either of my 2 best marathons, and to me that seems like a big jump.
