Yasso 800's. The workout: 1 mile warm up, followed by 8 x 800m averaging goal marathon pace converted to minutes. (2hr55min marathon = 2min55sec 800s) I originally wanted to aim for fairly consistent 2:54 800s, but I messed up the pacing just a bit for the first two, so I decided to aim for negative split 800s after th...at. The 800 splits were: 2:57, 2:56, 2:52, 2:54, 2:51, 2:50, 2:49, 2:47. (2:52 average) For recovery between each 800, I jogged for roughly the same time as the 800 and averaged 2:40 recovery. Then I cooled down for the last little bit to make it an even 8 mile day. Overall, I am really happy with how it went. I will try 10 x 800 next week and try for a more consistent average of 2:52.
