One mile up, five mile tempo, one mile down. First tempo outside in quite awhile so focused solely on effort with wanting to hit the first mile around 8 m/m with the last three miles at 7:30 pace.
Warmup - 8:23
Mile two - 7:50
Mile three - 7:35
Mile four - 7:05
Mile five - 7:16
Mile six - 7:28
Cooldown - 8:37
Tempo portion = 7:27 average
Not a bad run but it was a little quicker than I anticipated. Felt strong throughout and probably pushed a bit too hard in the middle so pulled back a bit at the end. Certainly something to build on and was glad this happened outside.
