Legs were tired after two runs in the hills of the Ozarks so wasn't sure what to expect from this tempo. The splits are certainly not even close to being exact:

Mile one - 8:37 (warmup)

Mile two - 7:50

Mile three - 7:11

Mile four - 7:01

Mile five - 6:58

Mile six - 7:23

Mile seven - 6:56

Mile eight - 8:57 (cooldown)

Six mile tempo - 43:19 or 7:13 per mile.

I can't draw any conclusions from the splits as they cannot be relied upon but 7:13/mile is a decent tempo for me. I hit what I thought was the first mile and figured my legs were just dead and just focused on relaxing. It's impossible to know if that helped. The last half-mile of the last mile was right into the jaws of the wind so I was probably digging a bit too much.
