Last long Boston Training run... Let the Taper begin. Scheduled 20 miles at MP+15 or about 8:12. Ended up moving right along... with 7:55 average. ha, I wonder if I could hold that for 5 more miles!. Did two eGels. JGT met me at 8 and 15 for cheers, H2O and tissues! Mile 15-16 hill was a breeze today... 8:03 average on the hill. Go figure! To recover, I walked barefoot in the snow, and rubbed the hammies with snow. Brrr.. If Meb can sit ina cold stream, I can walk barefoot on snow. Actually really invigorates the feet.

Been a tough 16 weeks to train. Work has been tough with too many meetings and trips. I was able to get in most if the three key runs each week, and sometimes an extra with the group. All the intervals were on the TM... thanks Y. Did a bunch of cross-training with swimming, spinning and XC skiing. It helps. Respected recovery days! Important to do. I'm not I would know what to do if I could really plan my running!

So the count down to Boston begins... 21 days to the starting gun!

Really impressive Dave across the board. The last interval at 6:54 says it all. Nice work.

I don't care what the race results end up being, this was a great set of training runs you had. Hopefully the conditions will allow you to run the best time possible.

Thanks Rob... really tried to follow the plan and limit to three key runs per week... Tempo, interval, long all at prescribed distances and paces. Other days were either swimming, spinning, biking, x-country skiing or recovery. I did a major change in stride per minute rate from about 76-80 upto 88-90. The faster stride rate equals less ground contact time and I believe reduces potential for injury. Now lets see how Boston goes!
