Notes

Group run from L Train's designed to mimic, and easily surpass the rigor and challenges of Derry's Boston Prep. If there was a hill we climbed up and down it, and sometimes back again. Tough course, but good for you. Had two groups running... one did 10-11 other did 16. (I added an extra .25 to get to 16.75). Lance had planted water at mile 6 and return at 12. Brought water belt with me and hydrated at 5 and 10, taking eGel at 5.5 and 11. Wx wasn't too bad... feet were fine. Ab pain was an issue today. Any time we stopped and then restarted it was quite painful for the first 1/4 mile than became just a general ache. Not sure if hills aggravated it, or the stretches and exercises I did last night. Coughing definitely hurts! Was supposed to be a 20 miler today at 8:53 or MP+60. I am satisfied with the ~17 miler at 8:35 considering all the mother hills. Worth looking at the course map an d elevations... impressive.

Finally a BIG thanks to Lance and Diane for hosting the group. Food as always was delicious and plentiful. The new hot tub was a wonderful way to treat sore muscles, especially with a Winter Lager in hand. The game... it was just fun being with the group. Great folks, great time!

Week in review... Job and travel made it hard to get mileage up toward 40 miles... Ran only Tuesday AM, Wednesday PM, then long run today for 31 miles. It's ok, as I'll call this a recovery week. Intervals were better than expected, and tempo was a piece of cake. Hoping the Ab issue backs off. Will likely call PT buddy and see what he recommends for this old, decrepit body.
