I'm still cold and shivering! Tough race with a wicked strong headwind the second half plus a nice hill at mile 8.5! Honestly couldn't wait for this bugger to be done! Good group of CN runners. Congrats to Robin and Michelle on the placing in their age group.
So I had hoped to break 1:40, which I barely did... so happy its a PR, but just think if the wind hadn't been blowing so hard! I was hoping for 1:37... next time. Paul and Cremer rocketed out of the start andnever saw them again. Caught up with Robin around mile 3 or 4 and we ran a bit together, and the she tuned back into RIO and was gone. I had some weird guy with the funniest stride that I would catch, and then he'd catch me. I past him at mile 12 and never saw him again.... good riddens. Caught up to Robin somewhere else and tap her on the shoulder at which she screamed! Sri about that... For some reason I had it in me then to keep going and pulled away (I knew she was hurting and felt bad to do so). I was bummed that I didn't place... got 5th out of 21 in 55-59. The guy 10 seconds in front of me won the division last year, but some pretty quick old guys there! Nice job everyone... You all rock.
Glad its done... will run Tuesday with group and then prepare for the fun stuff... Likely no running until the end of the month. Actually I welcome the break.
