Notes

Well the race that probably shouldn't have happened but too stubborn and cheap to skip it or DNF. Felt good heading out and kept cadence high>180. At mile 6 felt a twinge and adjusted cadence. Mile 10 I sped up and did;t realize it and all of a sudden felt a snap in my hammy along with a sharp pain. I adjust speed and cadence and started the trudge back on the last three miles through a wicked headwind. At mil12 another sharp pain and I thought it was over. Forced myself to finish this bugger. I actually thought I was going to pull a 1:39 but the last 3 miles were in pain! No have to recoup and get ready for Boston. Should have listened to Fro and used duct tape!

Heal up. Great race even with disaster striking.

Another amazing performance for an incredibly young Old Guy. (I don't say "old man" because you are not that old.) Heck, even your max heart rate proves your youthful age; it should be 157, but it's actually 186, which corresponds to 34. Wow! Take a lessen from this old guy. Don't try to run through pain; it's not worth it. When I did that at MWC in 2010, I missed two important weeks before Boston, as you must now do yourself. Good luck, and get well soon!

BTW, congrats on your 2d AG finish. Based on your 3:25 in Chicago just 6 months ago, and your last mile before injury, you would have captured 1st by nearly 2 minutes. Impressive and inspiring. Stay healthy, young man!

Thanks for your kudos Greg. It helps motivate me with three weeks to go until Boston!
