Notes

17:06 - 6th. Very good race for me. Plan was to be aggressive from the start. No watch splits and no mile markers so just used the course cues Jake set up for me. Worked up to the front of the race early and things settled a bit after the first mile. I found two MCRRC guys to group up with, hoping they would bridge me to Chris and this other MCRCC guy, but instead they fell off and Chris and the next guy ahead of me had already separated, so I was in no man's land in mile 2. Put together a solid drive up the long final hill in mile three and kicked down the guy on Chris' shoulder with 300 or so to go. Found another gear really late with 100 or so left and almost caught Chris, but I think my gasping for air and audible grunts probably spooked the shit out of him and he surged out of reach in the little 30m downhill finish chute. Really happy with the strong finish off an aggressive start on a hilly course.

Temps were nice-ish. Mid 70s no humidity. Actually air was almost too dry. Cotton mouth the whole race... Not complaining for a summer evening race.
