Drank quite a bit yesterday, and was a little hungover this morning, didn't know what to expect. Wore way too much clothes and didn't have much of a warmup. Decided to start off quick and keep a position towards the front but by 100m in I was pretty much done and my legs didn't respond. Was able to maintain a respectable pace for the first km but everything fell apart in the 2nd km. For the rest of the race it was just a matter of trying not to slow down. By the end I was completely spent with not much to show except for breaking 20:00. Conditions were pretty favorable with a strong wind from the north and west although there were points that it swirled and I found myself running into a wall of wind, especially in the 2nd km. Wore sweats over my running gear so felt like I was way too hot by the mid point and my body couldn't breathe properly. Body doesn't feel too bad after, Achilles only aches slightly. Will probably go back to focusing on the gym now until January knowing I can get into mediocre running shape within a month. Not sure how accurate the splits were as the km markers could have been slightly off.
